SURPRISINGLY, HARAJUKU STYLE has been in existence since the early 1980's, and it became known in the West around the 00's. Harajuku style is named after Harajuku Station in Tokyo. In the beginning, the local youngsters would occupy the streets dressed in unique and colorful outfits. The first craze was mixing traditional Japanese attire with western clothing. The message these Harajuku kids were sending is that they don’t give a damn about mainstream fashion. They would and can dress as they wish.

Harajuku fashion is a movement against strict societal rules and the pressure to fit the norm. Harajuku style now stands for a lot of different things and while many trends come and go, Harajuku fashion still remains.

Is the term used to describe Japanese youth culture who cos-play or 'costume play' on Sundays in the district of Harajuku. Seen as rebels to conformity, Harajuku is a popular place for them to show off their own creations and usually pose for others. Styles include Gothic, Lolita, anime/manga based or futuristic. Many Harajuiku girls are actually men. [11]

THIS VERSION OF HIS MOTHER is ready for a day in Harajuku. It took her a little longer to get ready than usual because her shoes kept losing their stickers but all is well now. She’s just enjoying the sites and people and expressing herself. Someone has a camera ready for a photo, better pucker up.

Her dress was handcrafted and imported from Italy. Her shoes are customized from the United States. Her headdress is custom along with her skin tone. She is a doll for collectors. She is not suitable for play.

ABOUT DOLL FUNCTIONS:

Custom based on TBL Blythe (it is not original blythe doll), skin tone - normal. Hinged body. Hands and feet move and bend.

Body with neck on the anchor hinge (reinforced) - has the ability to tilt slightly to the right/left and forward/backward.

Made carving nose and lips, face painted with pastel, pastel pencil, watercolor & clay.

Make-up is fixed with matte varnish with UF filter, lips are covered with varnish.

Custom Eye chips & "Sleepy eyes."

Replaced by lashes.

Pullings cords are decorated with Eye Change (Dr. Apples) Other Cord (Bead or Charm) for Sleepy Eyes.

Complete with the doll is the clothes in the photo.

Does NOT Include a stand or frame.
